Window of opportunity

On the long drive home from northeast Italy, we stopped for a drink, only to notice that in the quaint village of Bergun we had coincided with the one of three opportunities to visit the church: open churches. What a delightful and overwhelming surprise to discover the beauty in these walls, and to have a passionate church warden to tell us the history of the church.
