Death Of A Nobel
The Italian, Dario Fo, a past Nobel Prize winner for literature passed on Thursday, same day Bob Dillan was awarded the same. It has been making a lot of rounds in the news and they had a public funeral for him today in the Piazza Duomo square.
CC and I didn't know this and had other important plans like getting her bangs trimmed and a walk over to my favorite camera store to pick up a lens repair. :) Paired with a gray rain, it made for a perfect Street photography outing. ha
I'm still on a antique lens kick and today was matched with an old pre-aspherical 40mm f2 from the Leica C series - which happens to work perfectly on the Leica M. hurray! The Leica C series was the 'economical' version that Leica had lunched to bring some fresh blood into the game... too bad it was also a very well performer. Maybe too well, robbing business from the M series - and hence cancelled. That's the story in a nutshell. I love this lens yet today - some 45 years old. It was a perfect match for the drab rainy day tucked under the brim of my umbrella.
