Chaffinch

We went down to Cromwell Bottom to see what progress has been made as regards building the bridges back up;  they've done quite a lot but the initial completion date has gone from December this year, back to May in the new year.  It's not an easy task because they have to re-construct them so they have the appearance of how they were prior to the flood  -   even though modern constuction methods are being used.  It does make it more difficult to get there however with the bridges out of commission.

We didn't have the time to stay too long today, but the birds down there are quite tolerant of humans for the main part and don't seem to mind being observed;    I liked the way this Chaffinch was flying back and forth and hopping up and down   -  just generally seeming to enjoy the lovely morning.
