Domaine de Chaumont

Today we went to Domaine de Chaumont, one of the trips I'd planned for Martin's birthday.

This is the view from the chateau through one of the windows. It's a very castle-like chateau. They have an art exhibition at the top of the chateau using the rooms which are less well preserved as an exhibition space. 

There were also some rather fancy stables and the grounds were huge. We didn't manage them all, especially given part of them is dedicated to the international garden festival which involved more art. Quite an arty place really.

Also it had a very nice view over the River Loire, as most chateaus round here do it seems.

In the evening we had pizza at home, cooked in our very own oven.
