Where there's life ....
During the morning's walk, accompanied by my eldest grandson aged 6, we stopped by this tree and I explained to him what was happening. The tree had been uprooted many, many years ago but had just enough root remaining in the ground to enable it to send up new growth at intervals along the length of its prostrate trunk. These growths now had the appearance of fully grown trees which was quite bizarre really, but actually very special if you think about it. I know from a blipmeet earlier in the year with SheenaghMclaren that this effect is known as "re-iterating".
This afternoon we all went to the swimming pool followed by a cuppa and cake at Dobbies, the local garden centre.
