Prince Hal

I had to pop in to Stratford-upon-Avon this morning and I managed to pull in and grab a quick photograph of 'Prince Hal' whilst I was there.

Prince Hal is how Shakespeare's Falstaff refers to the young Henry V as a prince before his accession to the throne. Hal is portrayed as a wayward youth who enjoys the society of petty criminals and wastrels, a depiction which draws on exaggerations of the historical prince Henry's supposed wayward behaviour as a young man.
