Poole precipitation
Heavy rain today forced us to change our plans for another beach day, to Corfe Castle, inspiration for Enid Blyton's Kirren Island in the Famous Five series. But the rain was still coming down, so we grasped straws and headed to Poole. None of us had ever been there before, and we found the usual souless town centre. Finally the rain stopped, and we headed to the port. Then we stumbled across the old town, a collection of handsome Georgian buildings from the time when Poole was making money from salt cod from Newfoundland. We left with a much better impression of the place.
May backblip yesterday, but connection a tad dodgy.
