Marrow time

for the second time recently, I have fallen heir to  friend of a friend's Marrows from his allotment in Glasgow.  I didn't think we had the climate to grow proper marrows in this part of the country.  

 Each of these whoppers is over 2 1/2 kg.  that's over 5 lbs in old money. and that is not a small banana!   Clearly I am wrong!
