Caledonian Canal Colours
Monday October 10th
Neptune's Staircase
Sunny dry start to the day so we took advantage of the bright morning to stop at the Commando Memorial. It really sits so well in the landscape.
Next stop the Caledonian canal to see Neptune's Staircase and to walk along the canal bank following the route the Great Glen way takes.
Lovely to be walking along the canal seeing all the lovely autumn colours in the landscape:-)
Easy level walking for Maeve and the temperature stayed on the cool side despite the sun.
We had a late lunch back at a bistro beside Neptune's Staircase where Maeve was enjoying all the fussing she got from two women who both had deerhounds.
Back into Fort William for a little wander before heading back to Spean Bridge.
My image is a close up of a very colourful barge on tied up at the canal and my extra is the Commando Memorial.
