Artesano

Today was a beautiful day at la feria in Recoleta. Janet, Maïa, and I perused around the vendors and enjoyed the live music. We also made a new friend, Dewison Blanco, an amazing artesano from Colombia who made me a custom onyx necklace and talked to us for over an hour about his life, his love of music, and how to make beautiful jewelry.

In this picture, Dewison was talking to a customer, a woman who wanted a chain for a cross pendant her husband gave her. She was trying to convince him to name a price for his work and he was trying to get her to not worry about it and just pay him whatever she could.
