The White Lion, Walkden

Festooned with Union flags in the immediate aftermath of the 2012 Olympic Games, the White Lion seems to be trying to be "ordinary" when it is actually quite imposing. Perhaps "imposing" is no longer required in this corner of Manchester.

This was once a Boddington's pub but Boddingtons Bitter (the bitterest of all bitter Northern Bitters), the brewery and most of the pubs are all now history - the world has moved on.
