Englands shrinking.

With a good forecast for the next few days we decided to head up to the lakes to try and get some hills done and regain some fitness.
Came across this old sign in Low Lorton between Buttermere and Loweswater. Running a check on RAC route finder London has moved as the shortest route is now only 287.5 miles. Thought the motorways would have made it faster but further away.
