(Ex) Bingo Hall

Back in the 90s I used to sit outside this pile of rubble in fountainbridge at the bus stop waiting on a bus along the road to my missus' flat. It was the Mecca bingo hall back then and it was always busy, I used to enjoy watching the wide-grinned women being dropped off by their equally happy husbands. People of all ages used to turn up with a spring in their step. It has been unused for many years and was starting to look very rough around the edges. Inevitably it has now been torn down. Google tells me that it has been unused since 2006 and that before it became the Mecca it was the Palais de Danse, and before that a skating rink which opened in 1909. Sounds classy. I am sure there will be an equally entertaining replacement / generic cladding-and-glass student accommodation.....
