The Road Not Taken

The foliage colors are usually heading into their peak in central Pennsylvania by mid-October. Within the coming week or so, the show will be about as good as it gets.

The colors are especially fine when viewed in the best light of day: that golden hour just after sunrise, and the one just before sunset. (And let me note that sunset is arriving alarmingly early these days, yikes!)

I was driving past the airport on my way to work, when I spotted this little backroad which I have only looked down once before. I decided it was time to stop - not for a walk, there wasn't time for that - but just for a quick look. And it was mighty fine indeed!
