Old Retail Versus New Gig, London

This former BHS branch was the largest one in London on Oxford Street before it was closed down. I noticed the Deliveroo rider walk past and it made me think about the so called new "gig economy". To me it seems that Old Retail and New Gig have both let down their employees (or self-employed memebers(?!?!) either by paying them very poorly (and without holiday or sickness pay) or abandoning their obligation to their pensions.
Sir Philip Green should be so ashamed of himself and I really hope he loses his knighthood.
 With these new internet based companies like Deliveroo and Uber they seem to want to make all the profit without treating their "employees" with a degree of dignity and a fair wage.
