Hale Head Lighthouse (disused)

Wednesday 19th Oct 2016 (1516)

Having left the French sun behind yesterday and landed at Manchester in the dark and rain, it was so nice to wake to a bright sunny day. I had booked a day out with a friend but we hadn't planned where. We decided to go for a walk so I hastily planned a potential route for the walking group and we went on a recce.

We started at the village of Hale and walked along some of the Trans Pennine Trail. We had a few problems finding the start of the coastal path but we were soon back on track. The views across the Mersey were superb and it was a nice walk. Of course, we then had to test out the potential spot for a pub lunch for the group. The village pub was great and confirmed they could accommodate a large number. We can confirm that the food was great too, well it had to be tested! We finished the day at my friend's house for coffee.

A lovely day and I'm looking forward to a few more. I am not back on duty until Monday so the holiday continues.

UPDATE
I think I've finally caught up with all your journals as best I can. I will try hard to get back into the rhythm of daily commenting now. Thanks for sticking with me.
