Jacqui's World

Ted at Pendle Heritage Centre.

We called in at Pendle Heritage Centre in Barrowford this afternoon after going out for lunch. I was looking for a brother in law card which I thought I would be able to buy in the shop.

The Lancashire farmhouse dates from the 15th century, Park Hill was a working farm for most of its existence and grew from the first timber framed building to the house you see today. The Bannister family, who settled at Park Hill in the 1400s, and then the Swinglehursts who occupied part of the house from the late 18th century and built the Georgian extension.

The Bannister family are famous in this area. Sir Roger Banister's father was born in Trawden and Richard Banister of the Boundary Mill empire he still lives in Pendle.

Ted loved having his blip taken on the gates.
