It's a messy job

made all the easier with 4 pair of hands - although only three here. The apple tree is annually pruned and shaped by John and usually good for pretty shots of blossom and birds. This year, as all over I believe, we had the best crop ever and decided it best to turn them into fruit juice. The little juicing machine held up well under the guidance of the men, I was chopping up the apples and sister in law L poured the juice through the jelly bag/muslin. Later John poured it through a clean piece of muslin although still not satisfied with the clarity syphoned the liquid into freezer bags using a plastic tube from our neighbours wine making kit. I hope the end result was worth the mess we made. Definatly says John.

A happy afternoon playing. They have now left for Cumbria and we are now aiming for some sort of normality for a few weeks. The two pusscats have aged in recent months, our house sitter was excellent and dealt with the visit to the vet and pushing of pills very well. Impressive. We know it's inevitable with both aged 17, all the same...

Off out this evening with neighbours above to meet with neighbours across the field. Must be winter.
