Working Girl

Back in the laundry room, watching the mud wasp. She's still working on the structure, carrying minute amounts of mud to make a nest. She makes a sound, and now I can't describe it-- loud enough to get your attention, not humming or chirping, but something in between, a musical industrious sound. A very busy creature, smoothing the fresh mud with her head, getting everything just so.
