Downpour

Not the most professionally composed photographs here, but, to my defence I was cowering under a shop front with a bag of sausages in my hand. It was a shower that over stayed its welcome, really - a lingerer rather than an momentary nuisance.

A heavy shower, unlike most weather forms, both binds and separates a community. Those of us under the shop front are brought together by a camaraderie that opposes those who came prepared, the show-offs. Those who arrogantly parade around with their umbrellas. They have been the weirdos, day after day, for weeks. The ones who took their umbrella out on a sunny day. Their time has finally come.

And then there are those stood under the shop front with their umbrellas. I don't know what they're up to.
