Ribblehead, on the Settle-Carlisle Railway. Whernside is behind.

Our eldest was on his way from Manchester to Leeds but decided to do it the scenic way and spend some time with his parents :)

So, we picked him up at Oxenholme Station (on the west coast line) and drove to Ribblehead. A pub lunch was followed by a short (2½ mile) circular walk with views of the viaduct. Then it was back to the pub for tea and coffee before leaving him on the station platform for the 3.30 train to Leeds.
