Return to the North

The HUMBER Bridge!!!

According to a report on the local BBC News last night fewer than 30% of people asked knew that this 'landmark' was the Humber Bridge. Some thought it was the Golden Gate!, some the Clifton Suspension Bridge or possibly 'some bridge in Scotland'!!
In some ways it is a shame that more don't recognise it but then I think, Why should they?. Do i know every bridge in the UK on first sight? No/ I do tend to recognise the ones I use though.
For me this Bridge has always been recognisable. I watch it go up, our geography class went to see the columns as they were being constructed. It was significant because it meant we could go to Hull without getting on a monstrosity of a ferry or driving round for hours to get there.

The sunset was much better looking the other way so have added some to Flickr here
