La Concha

A ferry trip today to the beautiful unspoilt island of la Graciosa. There were no tarmaced roads just sandy streets between the flat roofed, whitewashed houses. We walked the coast and swam in the warm waters with a backdrop of steep cliffs back across the water to Lanzarote. Later I hired a bike and cycled to the the other side of the island on a very rutted dirt track, it was worth the effort to gaze in awe at the stunningly beautiful beach of La Concha, yellow sand and indigo blue sea but the huge waves made it unsafe for swimming!
