Mexican Jay
A bird of the Mexican mountains, the Mexican Jay lives in the oak woodlands of western Texas, SW New Mexico, and SE Arizona. However, of the estimated 800,000 Mexican Jay global population, only 17% live in the United States
Here's an interesting side note: In winter, Mexican Jay groups are often followed by Northern Flickers. The flickers pay attention to Mexican Jay alarm calls and are protected from predators by the vigilance of the jays.
