Bunting
Today was the last day of our holiday in the East Neuk. As I had to pack up and get organised I didn’t have time for a pre-breakfast walk this morning. Just as we had finished packing the car, and we had locked the door of our apartment, and posted the key back through the letterbox, the heavens opened. We took shelter in the car until it eased off – which thankfully wasn’t too long. We had a final wander round Crail with a visit to the pottery (where purchases were finally made after a few browsing sessions over the course of the week) , the harbour, the playpark, the co-op and the bakers (for the BB’s pancakes), before we headed off down the coast in search of some lunch. We stopped in PIttenweem and had a lovely lunch in a chocolate shop.
We borrowed the key to St Fillan’s cave from the shop, and went off to explore it. We then wandered along the High Street, looking in the windows of all the wee galleries, before descending back down to the shore and the harbour. Our next stop was Kellie Castle. We made it into the castle, just before the rain, and luckily it had gone off by the time we were looking round the garden. From there we headed home - our week away well and truly over.
I like this bunting hanging from clothes poles at the shore in Pittenweem. You can just see the Bass Rock and North Berwick Law on the horizon.
