Trafalgar Day/Night
The most important day in the Royal Navy year, this year slightly overshadowed nationally by the fiftieth anniversary of the Aberfan Disaster.
On holiday meant a lie in before breakfast and then the weekly shopping trip. Home and then a visit to the Athenaeum Club to collect the Rum Tub en route to the Greenbank Hotel where along with a few others we set up ready for the evenings formal dinner.
Clare and I along with forty-eight others had a great evening, good food, great company, a tot or two of rum, a pint or four of beer and a bottle of rose meant the evening went well.
