10.5C with sunny sunshine all day long. One or two fluffy white clouds. Cool clear air. Moderate Easterly breeze with a spell of wind to 25 mph and gusts to 36 mph.
Grocery shopping over by mid morning. Maeve the Deerhound stayed at home.
We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach to Carskey Bay where we had a walk with Maeve from one end of the beach to the other and back. The view over to the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland was very good in the clearer cool air. The tide was quite far out but there were waves appearing nearer the shore and breaking on the beach. It looked rougher out at sea and we saw one yacht sailing along with its bow and stern rearing out of the sea as it went along. A few gulls, and one or two gannets.
Halfway along the beach we came across this bit of wall. There wasn't a brick wall in sight, never mind one with a chunk missing. We had seen it there last time we wandered along. Today it was sand free and well lit. Derelict, or just lost ? The things that wash up on beaches !
No seals out on the rocks at Keil.
On the way to Southend we had checked the farm stand for Little Farm. Totally empty.
Later Apothecary7 was painting.
