Food and water for the cats

There is an elderly lady in the street who usually leaves some water and some food for the cats. Then she cleans the pavement carefully so that the other neighbours do not complain about her cares.
Besides, I went to our local street market to buy some flowers. The flower seller asked me to take a pic of him. I did, of course. 
I bought some 'nardos', but I do not know what they are called in English, do you?
 Nardos is what the seller is holding in his hand in my portrait.
