Saturday. Not quite the  restful day I'd hoped for! 

After a late start and several cups of good coffee, MrM drove us down Alnwick, where we failed to find a piece of skirting board to match that in the bathroom. Never mind, we acquired a plank of wood that will do just as well.

It was very grey and chilly during our walk on the beach at Alnmouth - lots of people also walking dogs and hundreds of seabirds on the shore, feasting on sand eels or something similar. Flocks (is that the right word?) of lapwings and geese in the air. Coquet Island in the distance in the Blip.

Back in to Alnwick to buy mugs, look at cushions (nothing we liked), some charity-shop browsing and lunch at Granny's (the smoked-salmon stack is recommended!). Then home to unpack the shopping, a bit more painting in the bathroom, an hour in front of the TV... and bed. Phew!
