The View from Stanton Moor
Looking east towards Matlock! A super day of revisiting old haunts and finding new ones.. I love the Peak District and don't visit nearly enough!
On the way we went to the National Stone Centre, a mini-museum set in a disused quarry just north of Wirksworth..
After revisiting Stanton Moor and the sites layer upon layer of human history we went down the hill to Doll Tor stone circle.. A place of connections to a pre-history taking visitors back in time; I wondered what the landscape might have looked like 4000 years ago and the pondered the significance to those people who visited in that time. Clearly a well visited place, il have to explore more of these sites in beautiful Derbyshire.
