Bright idea
The solar-powered roadworks warning sign at the top of York Road, after a full week of gorging on the fat rays that the Irish weather dishes out on us on a daily basis, managed to inform two dozens of lucky motorists that Tivoli Terrace South is closed (four lads scratching their heads around a JCB).
Its feeble orange message lasted for a good 15 minutes, before fizzling out ("Men scratching their heads around a JCB on Tivoli Terrace South. Local access only").
The inventor of this remarkable device is currently working on a rain-powered tourists safety tips display device in Death Valley National Park.
Genius!
