Chiesa del Santissimo Salvatore
Today we had a guided tour through the 'città alta' of Bergamo. As we were only the two of us, our guide Sam was able to show us some places off the beaten track. She did really well, and although I have chosen this church picture today, we had quite a vivid tour and a good mix between the history and today's place.
She told us, that this church also received the name 'church of desperates' from the people. The story is that all churches around only allowed weddings on Saturdays, creating a problem for people who wanted to marry but were not allowed to a free day on Saturdays. This church was the only one making an exception and marrying desperate couples on weekdays.
