Witchy Woods (Monday 17th October 2016)

Just a quickie blip taken on the way back from some recycling, looking for somewhere I could pull over and park. This is slightly more difficult when towing a small, light trailer, especially since reversing becomes almost impossible. These woods border the A4 near to John Bentley School and are actually called Quemerford Lodge Plantation.

This first appeared on the UK version of Out Of Our Heads, and then on the US album December's Children, and got played by me from the latter album in the mono box set on this day. The song was written and first recorded by Chuck Berry in 1961 and I have chosen it as Chuck Berry became 90 on 18th October. Many British bands used to cover the tune before the Stones, including the Beatles, the Hollies and the Yardbirds, however the Stones slowed it down and changed the arrangement quite considerably.
