Jeremiah O'Brien
The last remaining 'liberty ship', rapidly built in huge numbers during World War 2 to carry essential supplies across the Atlantic. Thousands were sunk and many survived to be used for years afterwards. I used to see many along the Manchester Ship Canal during the 50s and 60s.
