200 years plus 1 day

Saturday afternoon found me in town. The low sun lit up Wellington and also the Nelson's Monument on Carlton Hill the day after there had been a ceremony to mark the 200 years of the monument. The low light highlighted the bronze work by the sculptor John Steell. The statue went up in 1852, while Wellington was still alive aged 83 shortly before his death a few months later.
