My middle boy and I went for a cycle along the coast path today. We stopped for lunch at St Monan's and ate our take out soup and empire biscuits whilst watching the goings on around the harbour and the tide slowly edge back in.

At one point, feet up on the harbour wall, head tilted back into the blue skies, with the bunting flapping overhead he said 'this is the most perfect holiday.'

Hard to argue with that.

In the afternoon my eldest and I went to St Andrews for a spot of shopping. We wandered along the east stands before trying on and purchasing some new clothes, browsing and purchasing some books and finished with a hot chocolate and a flat white.

Hard to beat that either.
