Dead central...
When I bought the house in which, 40 years on, I still live, a friend asked why I'd be happy to live in town rather than beside the sea or in the country. Maybe it was the Weegie in me; maybe I liked a house that was more like the one I grew up I (no having to duck in the bedrooms) - whatever the reason we still live here, right above the town, 10 minutes' slow walk from the ferry.
But look: the hills seem to rise at the end of the road; we have a wonderful view of the sea; our back windows look out to quiet gardens with the hills beyond. Not bad for a town house ...
