Acer Palmatum

This Japanese Maple in our garden, although lovely, never seems to turn red as it is meant to. In fact, it has just been green for the past four years.

I think this is possibly because we get very windy weather up on the hills a lot of the time and so certain plants suffer as a result.

However, this year, the acer seems to have produced some autumnal colours.

Hopefully, the good spell of clear, crisp, still and sunny weather we have had in the last few weeks (until today) has helped it along and the plant will burst into the vibrant colours it is supposed to!
