The Adam Bridge

Not such good weather today but L and I set off to Dumfries House and gardens. I had been before but today was L's first visit. We spent most of the time in the arboretum and walled garden, not forgetting the cafe. Wonderful autumn colours.

In 2017 it will be ten years since Prince stepped in to save Dumfries House, its contents and estate from being broken up and sold at auction. An ambitious programme of restoration and conservation carried out over recent years has returned the House to its original splendour.

The Adam Bridge, designed in 1760, is one of the outstanding features on the estate.


Just getting myself organised to watch the final 'Bake Off' and hoping that my favourite guy wins.
