A Squash Rehearsal

We're carving pumpkins on Friday night,
3 nights before the night of fright.

I worked on this squash with my hands and a knife,
some would say I need to get a life.

I cut and I sculpted. The end was near.
That's when I noticed...I"D LOPPED OFF ONE EAR!

I'll step up my game, a quick picker-upper.
Now I'm off...to cook this for supper.
