Tigger's traumatic day
We had a great walk today, starting at Bardon Mill, where our cars attracted a few puzzled expressions from locals. There were 27 of us on the walk. Ann took us to Allen Banks. Only some of the paths are open after all the flood damage, but it was good to be there again and to enjoy the autumnal hues in the trees (see extra).
The weather was kind until the last 30 minutes when we experienced high winds and rain. It did not last.
On the return route via Silly Wrea Farm, one of the heavy horses indulged in a bit of pick pocketting. Gwen, seen in the blip, has two small Tiggers in the pocket of her back pack. The horse gently lifted one - Gwen had no idea - until someone realised that Tigger was in the horse's mouth. Did the orange colour make him think of carrots? Who can say.
Tigger was unceremoniously dumped on the muddy field and rescued by Cathy. I missed all this, having walked ahead, but I was on hand to record the trauma.
It was lovely to be well enough to walk. There were lots of ups and downs on today's 9 miler and loads of mud.
