Drays' Holiday

Taken by surprise by the unseasonably (oh, hang on, it's August) good weather and lack of rain, we arranged an impromptu picnic in a field in Poulshot. This wasn't a random field but one that contained Prince, Monty and Max (left to right) on their summer hols - the famous Wadworth shire horses. Last year I'd been to the event at the Raven preceding their procession into the field for a fortnight's freedom, but unfortunately learned of it too late to attend this time.

We were given a warm greeting when we entered the field and found them chomping on some freshly-provided hay. They left us alone while we had our lunch and were shading under the trees by the stile when we came to leave. These shots were taken after we'd navigated the stile with three giants towering over us as we did so.
