Smashing!
I once went on a course that said that all upsets were fundamentally down to 3 things:
- a mis-set expectation
- a thwarted intention
- an undelivered communication
So yesterday was probably largely number 1 with a little 2. Of course, I woke in the early hours bursting with number 3. Still undelivered to the actual recipient but I did spend most of the morning replaying angry conversations in my head. And to the dog.
I must have done enough to get it out of my system, or at least let off enough steam, or possibly bore myself because by lunchtime I had decided that it was a waste of my very precious energy being cross. So I've moved on to determined. And very focused on doing everything I can for us all to make the very best of every day we can whilst we get on with finding a specialist who can help us.
And we have had a lovely day. The kids have largely had to fend for themselves as I have had two webinars and various other work things. But in between we have had many games of table tennis and I have somehow managed to help both of them with some maths (well the Internet did but I used the Internet). Jackson did a lovely job of coaching Anna on the table tennis table and Anna has done a great job of working through her holiday jobs list - practice theory exam paper, homework, singing & double bass. And of course, gymnastics. I think we really did strike gold with their birthday presents this year (the table tennis table for J and a crash mat for A).
No pressure on the folks for tomorrow...

ps - thank you as always for being part of our sanity-preserving support team yesterday. All that swearing on our behalf really does help.
