FRIGHT NIGHT.
This evening we were treated to a three course meal, drama and musical entertainment as part of a school collaboration with a local hotel, which was historically also helmed by the Rotary club. It was such a good evening! The kids who served us and the kitchen kids were ridiculously amazing. The spiced pumpkin butternut squash soup was seriously flavoursome, the risotto was reasonable- my youngest deemed my version a better creation though - and the deserts were delicious. We were greeted at the door by drama students pretending to be Burke and Hare, and Knox was on the stairs directing them. There were a few of thier victims lolling around too. The musical entertainment was produced by the advanced higher class, who were quite uninhibited and proud of thier musical abilities. That may seem a strange statement, but in my experience its difficult to get kids to believe in themselves enough to let go and enjoy thier talents. The staff in music department at Inverkeithing High school are quite brilliant. All for the princely sum of £12.00. This is a blip of a hoarding as the hotel is currently undergoing serious renovations. No paint; it's all light play. It'll soon also be a Hulton Doubletree, which can only be good for the area, as the hotel has nosedived over the last 10 years, and I think know would've been in danger of closure had big name not stepped in to raise the standard and give it a serious cash injection. At one point it was renamed the Edinburgh North. Yeah, about 10 miles north of Edinburgh in a different county..
Extras this evening are of my blue haired beauty in her chef whites, and one of the table arrangements. I did succumb to a little pyromania this evening when I inadvertently set fire to one of the linen napkins when I moved it in an attempt to get a picture of the centerpiece. Oops.
