Girl Time!

My husband flew my cousin and best friend out to Colorado to spend a week with me while he was hunting as a gift to me and her!  So we took off in the car to see some sights on Tuesday, heading to Utah.

We traveled to Dinosaur National Monument stopping first in the part of the park in Colorado.  We took this winding steep dirt road down to a valley that is called Echo Park..there was not a soul there but us..except for a gentleman named Mike who passed by on his hike.  He kindly took this photo of us in front of Steamboat Rock..a huge rock mountain in the middle of the river.  Then he was on his way.    The mountains really do echo!  We practiced!   We ended up spending the whole afternoon there instead of driving to the next stop on our itinerary.   We hiked around the river, saw some bighorn sheep ewes close up(we thought they were mountain goats but my hubby taught us better!), skipped rocks in the river, had a picnic lunch under some trees that still were brilliant yellow and just giggled and laughed like little girls!

Then we drove back out to spend in the night at Vernal, Utah where we had a very tasty supper..we almost wanted to stay there another night just for the food.

But another adventure awaited the next day!
