Midwinter in T minus 2 days

And I for one can't wait. Then the days start getting longer again. We're over the hump as it were, so lets celebrate with a big festival!

It is a driech day here in the Athens of the north, far enough away from the equator to have only twilight now, but not far enough to get the Northern Lights (why lord, why?). I can honestly say that a day like today saps the will and makes me long for the ability to hibernate. I went out at lunchtime for some food...

What a fool! I've just realised that I brought lunch in today!
