Through the hedge

Left home at 0935 to visit mum. I had promised I would be there by 10 but as always I was late. We drank copious amount of tea as always & I had a cheese sandwich for lunch whilst she tucked into a hot meal. She had offered me a meal but I had declined especially today because Carol was at home in bed and I thought I ought to cook her something when I got in. By about 2 pm we had run out of things to say & I left there & came back the scenic route. This takes me past the rear of NT property Claydon House. There is a layby there where you can get a sneeky peek at the place & so with the promise of some Autumn colour this is where I stopped and took this shot. - more here :

Having left here I then wound my way to see Daph for 30 minutes - just to make sure she was OK & didn't need anything/ She was OK considering & so I left at about 1540.

Home now to see Carol who hurt her back yesterday whilst we were lopping a tree. She has a weak back anyway and had felt a few twinges in the past few days. I left her in bed when I went out  & when I got in she was still there. So at least she was doing the right thing. Fingers crossed that she feels better tomorrow.

A grey old day with not much sun.
