It is Friday
Last night it was Boogy Bill's Billionaires with the lovely Emma Williams as vocalist with Bill himself on keyboard and Paul Froggatt on sax & clarinet. Here is Emma and I don't do her justice as she is a vivacious character that most joyfully fits every number that she sings. Over the past 5 years I have sketched her quite a few times as you see:
here, here, here , here, and here.
The challenge is trying to capture her character & movement. Yesterday I did go and see an exhibition at Somerset House, London of Rodin's drawings of dancers that he did for his sculptures but they were flowing lines without a lot of form - so I did not get inspired but of course his finished sculptures are magical and elegant. BUT I did find out that he did reuse arms and limbs in sculptures - why waste them!!
One innovation was the purple dress - I just wanted to bring in more colour and she gets a chance to see how she looks in purple!!
