Don't pay the Ferryman

This chap runs one of the ferries in Christchurch he also did some of the boat rental. So we rented a couple of motor boats for an hour.

It was lovely, pottering up the river, Sam was fishing, the children laughing and having fun. We saw Kingfishers darting and Sam and Heidi's boat catch fire. It was only a small fire, easily contained. We enthusiastically motored to their aid, it turned out we were a bit overly enthusiastic and I managed to drive both boats into a bush. It was only a minor crash, we all found it really funny apart from Poppy ' Oh my god we are going to die' she said. Luckily she was wrong. A proper boater appeared and towed them back to safety.
