Downtown Dakota Demonstration

An impressive crowd gathered downtown to show solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and to protest the planned Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota - a 1200 mile project that would transport as much as 570,000 barrels of crude oil daily from North Dakota to Illinois while cutting through sacred tribal burial grounds and traversing below the Missouri River, the primary source of drinking water for the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. It was encouraging to see such a healthy turnout, comprised mostly of very youthful faces.
